Ingredients

  • 2 large oranges 1 juiced, 1 sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 large lemon juiced
  • 1 large lime juiced
  • 1 cup 240 ml unsweetened 100% white grape juice
  • 1/4 cup 60 ml honey or agave syrup, plus more to taste
  • 2 cups 480 ml chilled sparkling water (plain or lemon-flavored)
  • 2 cups 480 ml chilled ginger ale (use a brand with real ginger for best flavor)
  • 1 cup 150 g mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or sliced strawberries)
  • 1 small apple cored and thinly sliced, any variety
  • Ice cubes large cubes melt slower
  • Optional: 2-3 sprigs fresh mint or basil for garnish

Equipment

  • large pitcher or punch bowl
  • wooden spoon
  • citrus juicer
  • sharp knife
  • cutting board

Method

  1. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the fresh orange juice, lemon juice, and lime juice.
  2. Add the white grape juice and honey (or agave). Whisk until the sweetener is fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness—it should be slightly sweeter than you want the final drink, because the sparkling water and ginger ale will dilute it.
  3. Add the orange rounds, apple slices, and mixed berries. Gently stir to coat the fruit. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 4 hours) to let the flavors meld. This step is key—don't skip it.
  4. Just before serving, pour in the chilled sparkling water and ginger ale. Stir gently once or twice—over-stirring will flatten the bubbles.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the punch over the ice, making sure each glass gets some fruit. Garnish with a mint or basil sprig if desired. Serve immediately.
  6. For a single serving: Scale down the ingredients—use 2 tablespoons each of orange, lemon, and lime juice, 2 tablespoons grape juice, 1 teaspoon honey, and about 1/4 cup each of sparkling water and ginger ale. Add a few fruit slices.

Notes

Storage: This punch is best enjoyed within 2 hours of adding the carbonated beverages. Leftover fruit-and-juice base (without sparkling water/ginger ale) can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Add fresh carbonation when ready to serve.
Allergens & Substitutions: This recipe is naturally free of the top allergens (dairy, eggs, nuts, gluten). For a lower-sugar option, replace ginger ale with extra sparkling water and use a sugar-free sweetener like stevia or monk fruit (adjust to taste). For a tropical twist, swap the apple for diced mango or pineapple.
Safety: Use a sharp knife when slicing fruit; keep fingers curled under. If serving children, ensure no small fruit pieces pose a choking hazard. For dietary concerns, consult a qualified professional.
